Professional Background
Rich Rogers is a former broadcast meteorologist from Augusta, Georgia, forecasting the area’s weather professionally for 10 years, most of which was at WAGT (NBC 26). After WAGT was purchased by another company, Rich served at WJBF NewsChannel 6 as a meteorologist and web content producer in 2016. In December 2016, Rich left broadcasting and began a career in higher education web content and development at Augusta University. In his role at AU, Rich leads the Administrative Committee of the Staff Council.

Other Activities
From 2019 to 2021, Rich served as president of the Augusta University Alumni Association and has been a board member since 2013. Rich also served as president of the association’s Summerville Alumni Society from 2015-2017. He was a member of the Summerville Alumni board from 2009-2018, formerly known as Augusta State University Alumni Association. In 2014, Rich was among the first group of recipients of the university’s Jag20 award, which was given to emerging alumni leaders (the award is now known as the Outstanding Young Alumni Award). Rich also served as an ex-officio trustee of the Augusta University Foundation from 2019 to 2021, and was part of the historic vote to merge the Georgia Health Sciences Foundation with the AU Foundation.
Rich and his wife are members of West Acres Baptist Church in Evans, Georgia, where he serves as a deacon.
In May 2017, Rich was elected to his neighborhood association’s board of directors, serving as secretary/treasurer until moving in November 2018.
In his spare time, Rich enjoys working out, spending time with family and friends, working in the yard, and keeping up with politics.
