November was Cooler, Wetter than Average for Augusta

Perhaps it comes as no surprise, but the month of November brought a big change in Augusta’s weather from the previous months, at least in terms of temperature.

The average temperature for the month was 53.8°, which was 1.4° below average. The month ranked as the 33rd coldest November on record since records at Augusta Regional Airport began in the early 1940s.

Typically one of the driest months of the year, November 2018 brought one of the rainiest months of 2018. 5.98 inches of rain was recorded at Augusta Regional Airport, making it the 7th wettest November on record since the early 1940s.

The significant cool-down happened after a very warm October, when temperatures were 4.3° warmer than average, making it the 7th warmest October. And that came after the warmest September on record at Augusta Regional Airport, with temperatures averaging 81.4°, or 6.7° warmer than average.
