After a stretch of warmer than average temperatures, Augustans woke up to the first sub-freezing temperatures of 2019 this morning.
In fact, Thursday marks the first time temperatures have dipped below freezing since Christmas Day when the low was 30°. Thursday’s low temperature dipped to 31° at Augusta Regional Airport. Nearby in Martinez, Thursday morning’s low temperature was 29°.
Friday morning, residents will wake up to even colder temperatures, with some areas dropping into the mid 20s. Generally, near normal temperatures are expected in the Central Savannah River Area for at least the next week.
